The James Cox
Memorial Scholarship Awards 2007
The James Cox Memorial
Scholarship was set up by the Rotary Club of Aylesbury in memory of past
Rotarian James Cox who in his days as a local architect was very interested
in the education and training of young people.
The Scholarship is designed as a series of annual
awards to assist people up to the age of 25 years who have left full time
secondary school to further their educational aims.
Applicants must have either completed their education in, or normally
reside at the time of application in, Aylesbury or within 7.5 miles of St
Mary’s Church of Aylesbury. Applicants must also have had some past
connection with or knowledge of Rotary.
Awards made this year are as
follows:

Suzy Martin who completed her
secondary education at The Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School - £500
·
Thomas Mann who completed his
secondary education at The Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School - £100
·
Claudia Roberts who completed her
secondary education at Aylesbury High School - £100
·
Robert Fulton who completed his
secondary education at Waddesdon Church of England School - £100
·
Stephanie Mitchell who completed her
secondary education at The Sir Hery Floyd Grammar School - £100
Club President, Des May, said “This is the first year
that awards have been made and we look forward to many more applications
next year to be in before 30 April 2008.”
Rotary is comprised of present and former business people, managers and senior local government officers, male and female, who like to contribute to Rotary by their experience and interest in local community projects and, through a world-wide network of clubs, internationally, whilst at the same time meeting with like minded people and at regular events with partners and families. www.aylesburyrotary.org
